Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Tellafriend, a referral program for Ghost newsletters operated by shineunill ("we"). By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

Tellafriend connects to your Ghost site, gives each of your subscribers a personal referral link, counts the new subscribers they bring, and tells you when someone reaches a reward you set. You decide the rewards and deliver them yourself. We don't send rewards or emails to your subscribers.

2. Your account

• You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure.
• One account connects one Ghost site, and a Ghost site can be connected to only one account.
• You must have the right to connect the Ghost site and to share its subscriber data with us.

3. Your subscribers' data

You remain responsible for your subscribers and for having a lawful basis to process their data. We process it only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Plans, trial and billing

• New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no card required.
• Paid plans are billed monthly by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle's terms apply to payments.
• If your trial ends without a plan, referral counting stops. Your data is kept for 30 days, then deleted.
• If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires.
• If your subscriber count exceeds your plan's limit, we keep counting referrals and ask you to upgrade.

5. Referral counting

A referral counts when a new subscriber signs up through a referral link and Ghost records it. We may mark referrals as suspect (for example self-referrals or disposable emails) for you to review. Counts depend on Ghost and on readers' browsers, so we can't guarantee every referral is captured.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Tellafriend to send spam, run fraudulent referral schemes, or break the law or Ghost's terms.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Tellafriend running but don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change features; we will email you before changes that reduce what your plan includes.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
